God only knows why I was chosen as part of this group, but I am glad to be part of such an enthusiastic team. I spent my younger adult years living in the flats of Suffolk surrounded by fields and woodland, in my later years I have been living in Middlesex, where the highest climbs I have endured have been the escalators in my local shopping centre.

To my surprise and excitement, I was given the opportunity to be part of the Artis team, taking part in the 3 Peaks Challenge July 2010, I have previously completed the 10k for help a London child and it was such a rewarding feeling to achieve and raise money for others who have far more to deal with in life than myself. This is a huge challenge for us, however we are a strong and dedicated team, who are determined to succeed in this challenge and raise as much money as possible for the Anthony Nolan Trust, Taking back lives from Leukaemia.

We discussed doing the three peaks a couple of years ago, and nothing came of it; so when it was suggested again i thought i really ought to go for it before I get to old!

I was lucky in that as a youngster my parents took us on active holidays - as such I have climbed all three mountains before - but over 30 years ago.

I was so pleased to have an opportunity to combine a long held personal goal with an opertunity to help such a worthwhile cause.

I'm happy to be representing the Welsh leg of the Challenge, although walking in the dunes near Porthcawl will be slightly different to climbing Snowdon I feel.

I have set myself some challenges before but I can safely say this is the biggest and hardest. I can honestly say I can't wait.

With the team we have got I am confident that we are going to do this and we may even enjoy it too.

I lost my Dad to cancer, over 10 years ago, and I know he would be amazed at what I am trying to do. Please support us and help us to raise money for the Anthony Nolan Trust.
